    Bellville West and O'Fallon

    FCHS Track Has Successful Week

    by Lindsey Mank

Last week the FCHS women’s and men’s JV and varsity teams started the week off strong at the FCHS Home Invitational on Tuesday. The meet featured 8 teams, most being teams in the Cahokia Conference, a good preview meet before the conference meet in May. The meet was a crisp 40 degrees and had an unexpected downpour for a majority of the meet, so no results were able to be recorded. Despite the unfortunate weather, the Midgets competed very well.

On Friday, the girls had a meet at the Belleville West for the Lady Maroons Invitational. The meet featured very strong teams, most being 3A teams with a few 2A teams in between. With the tough competition, the lady Midgets were able to place 8th in the 17 team competition, losing only to one 2A team, Triad. The results of the events are as follows: Pole Vault- Chelsea Hill (8’06”); Long Jump- Emily Vahlkamp (15’03”) and Katie Peters (13’09”); Triple Jump- Emily Vahlkamp (28’09”); Discus- Jenna Kennedy (92’00”) and Ryanna Bailey (53’02”); Shot Put- Abby Lealaimatafao (36’10.75”) and Jenna Kennedy (29’03”); 3200M Run- Kristen Collier (12:49) and Emma Farley (13:21); 4x800M Relay- (10:48); 4x100M Relay- (0:53.73); 100M Hurdles- Mary Wolf (0:19.81) and Emily Hartmann (0:20.85); 100M Dash- Lydia Simburger- (0:14.81) and Katie Peters (0:15.04); 800M Run- Taryne Knuckles (2:40) and Taylor Haskenhoff (2:47); 4x200M Relay- (2:08.16); 400M Dash- Allison Bergkoetter (1:06.03) and Emily Vahlkamp (1:07.87); 300M Hurdles- Mary Wolf (0:52.43) and Emily Hartmann (0:55.75); 1600M Run- Kristen Collier (6:08.88) and Emily Marler (6:09.78); 200M Dash- Chelsea Hill (0:28.84); F/S 4x400M Relay- (4:30.56); 4x400M Relay- (4:24.42).

On Friday as well, the boys competed at the O’Fallon Relays. This meet was unique, with a majority of the events being relays and field events, with only 4 “open” events. This was a good opportunity to get a lot of the boys into an event. The results of the events are as follows: High Jump- Kaleb Carr (5’04”); Pole Vault- Dominic Brown (9’00”); Long Jump- Logan Schraufnagel (17’03”) and Nathan Secker (16’03”); Discus- Tristen Schneider (139’03”) and Mitchell Buerck- (94’07”); Shot Put- Drew Allen (39’11.5”); 3200M Run- Evan Aud (11:09), Riley Keleher (11:09) , Patrick Kramper (11:18); 4x800M Relay- JV (9:36) and Varsity (8:56.18); 110M Hurdles- Logan Schraufnagel (0:17.38) and Colton Lasley (0:18.67); 4x100M Relay- JV (0:55.62) and Varsity (0:48.17); 100M Dash- Nathan Secker (0:13.11); 1600M Sprint Medley Relay- (4:00); 4x200M Relay- JV (1:55.39) and Varsity- (1:43.62); 300M Hurdles- Colton Lasley (0:46.48) and Logan Schraufnagel (0:46.72); Distance Medley Relay- (12:22); 4x400M Relay- (3:51.91).

    by Lindsey Mank

The boys and girls JV and Varsity track teams traveled to Columbia High School last Wednesday for the first outdoor meet of the season.
