Special Education - Resource 

Duties

To teach high school special education students enrolled in special education classes. The current assignment of five hours of Resource Lab and

one hour of Transition class work.

Qualifications

Proper LB1 certification and ability to effectively engage students in this program in meaningful learning activities that comply with the school’s

curriculum, student IEP’s, and all state and federal requirements.

Salary/Benefits

Current base salary for teachers at FCHS is $41,800 per year. FCHSD #77 offers an attractive benefit package including paid retirement (TRS

contribution), and paid individual health insurance. Additional stipends are available for extra-curricular music activities at FCHS.

Industrial Arts Instructor

Duties

Freeburg Community High School is seeking a candidate to teach Industrial Arts Classes in a recently renovated Industrial Arts Classroom/Shop.

The teaching assignment is for four hours of Intro to Trades classes and two hours of Introduction to Welding classes.

Qualifications

Candidates should have either a Illinois PEL for Industrial Arts, or be able to qualify for a CTE certification in Industrial Arts by:


An individual with a Bachelor’s would need 2,000 hours of experience in the endorsement area. And if applying for more than one

endorsement area, would then need a minimum of 1,000 hours of experience in the subsequent endorsement areas.

An individual with an Associate’s degree (if has 60 semester hours) then falls under the above guidelines.

If individual does not have a college degree or less than 60 hours and is coming from the industry, he/she would need 8,000 hours of

experience in the first endorsement area and then 1,000 hours of experience for each subsequent area.


Salary/Benefits

FCHS has a competitive salary and benefits package available for qualified candidates. Beginning salary of $41,800 for the 2024/2025 school

year. CTE candidates will be granted additional steps on the salary schedule for years of work that qualified the candidate for the CTE certification.

FCHS also will contribute TRS payments on the Teachers behalf. Additionally, the District will cover 100% of the individual Major Medical cost for

the Teacher. Family health, dental and vision are available to the Employee as well.


Additional Notes

Classes will be taught in a recently renovated, state of the art, dedicated shop/classroom. The District will also cover expenses toward professiona

development. Additionally, the District has a partial tuition reimbursement fund for course work for advance degrees and advancement on the

salary schedule.

Girls Physical Education/Health - Head Girls Volleyball 

Duties

To provide foreign language instruction to high school students as directed by the district’s curriculum guides and the high school administration in a

building of approximately 700 students.


Qualifications

Appropriate certification to teach high school foreign language in the state of Illinois.

Freeburg Community High School has positions available beginning with the 2024/2025 school year. 

Girls Physical Education & Health - Duties include teaching girls physical education, health classes. Must possess a current Illinois PEL with endorsements in Physical Education and Health. Endorsement in Driver’s Education is a plus. Per the current CBA, minimum base salary of $41,800. Head Girls Volleyball Coaching Vacancy - The District also anticipates a Head Girls Volleyball Coaching position available for a very successful Volleyball program beginning with the 2024/2025 school year. Freeburg High School has had 9 appearances at the State Tournament, including a state appearance in 2022, earning two 4th place finishes, two 3rd place finishes, and four State Championships. The team returns quite a few starters from a 3a sectional finalist team along with a strong underclass program. The underclass has a full Freshman and JV schedule. The Head Coaching stipend is $6,170 for the 2024/2025 season.
