The Freeburg Community High School Board of Education is excited to announce that Dr. Sarah Gass has been offered and accepted the position of Superintendent effective July 1, 2024.  The Board of Education will officially approve Dr. Gass’ employment at the December 14th Board meeting. 

Dr. Gass received her Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from the University of Illinois, her Master of Arts in Education from McKendree University, her Specialists Degree in Educational Administration from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, Doctorate Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from McKendree University.  She completed the National Institute for School Leadership’s Executive Development program, and received her Superintendent Licensure at McKendree University.

Dr. Gass currently serves as the Principal at Althoff Catholic High School.  She began her educational career teaching mathematics at O'Fallon High School.  She served as the Principal of Chester High School, and then the Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction at Quincy High School before moving on to her current position as Principal at Althoff Catholic High School.

Dr, Gass is married to Mr. Chris Gass, and they have three children together.
